WARSAW – Anyone wanting a COVID-19 vaccine can get one this week at the Center Lake Pavilion.
The clinic continues through Saturday, May 15, and is the second of a two-part effort to distribute the second dose of medicine.
The clinic has expanded to provide free shots to walk-ins without an appointment. This move comes as demand for the COVID-19 vaccine softens and supplies grow.
The clinic opened Tuesday and saw nearly 350 people return for a second shot.
Hours for the clinic at Center Lake are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, May 15.
The clinic update was announced Wednesday, May 12, during the pandemic press conference at Warsaw City Hall.
In other developments:
- A mobile clinic is being arranged for employees of a local company. It is the first of what officials hope will be several clinics in which the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory administers the shots. Organizers are hoping to use the Johnson & Johnson single shot. Companies can reach out to the Kosciusko County Health Department if they are interested in a workplace clinic.
- Officials say most pharmacies are offering vaccines without an appointment.
- Beginning Monday, hours for testing at fairgrounds will be reduced to 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to Kurt Carlson, CEO of Bowen Center, which is operating the service.
